Whilst here there is plenty to keep you occupied.

Lochcarron is a great location that will allow you to explore the Wester Ross area, in addition the Isle of Skye is a short 40 minute drive from your accommodation.

The village of Plockton is a must see place, seal watching trips are available in Plockton along with a few establishments that serve a fine selection of meals and snacks. Plockton is famed as the location where the TV series Hamish Macbeth was filmed, along with the famous original move, the Wicker Man.

One of the highest roads in Britain is close by, the Bealach Na Ba climbs to 2053 feet above sea level, once at the top you can admire the stunning scenery from the local viewpoint.

Another super place to visit is the stunning beach at Sands, where Monty Hall had his Beachcomber Cottage.

Applecross is a firm favourite amongst tourists, here you can enjoy great food at the Applecross Inn.Whilst in Applecross you can take a trip to the Walled Gardens at Applecross House, here you will also find the Potting Shed restaurant.

For those who prefer to leave the car and go walking or cycling, the possibilities are almost endless with numerous hill walks and hill tracks being found within the vicinity of Lochcarron and Glen Carron. Loch Carron itself provides many opportunities for fishing, sailing (there is a sailing club to which visitors are welcome), canoeing and kayaking. You can even learn to dive and explore a whole new world beneath the surface of the water.


Lochcarron lies amidst some of the finest scenery in the British Isles and is an absolute paradise for all those who love the great outdoors. Many people who visit this beautiful area do so to escape from it all, to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life, and to enjoy the peace and tranquillity and the truly spectacular views - it is an ideal spot for walkers, photographers, artists, wildlife watchers and all those who simply enjoy touring and seeing the different views which appear around almost every corner.


For those who also like activities of a more energetic or sporting nature, there are ample opportunities for sailing, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, hill walking and climbing. Lochcarron even has its own 9-hole golf course to which visitors are very welcome. Clubs are available for hire and the club house has its own "Tee Rooms"!
